Ask questions about your team's work and get answers from your own sources, with a citation on every claim.
This feature is being built and is not on main yet. This page describes it as it is being built and will change before it ships.
Chat answers questions from your team's own sources: knowledge, connections, repositories and the code graph, memories, data sources and skills. Open it from Chat in the sidebar, or press ⌘K and pick New chat.
Asking
The page opens on the question box, ready to type. Under the box are a few suggested questions built from your team's own data: your knowledge, your repositories and your recent runs. Picking one asks it with the sources it needs.
- Sources sit inside the box as chips. Open Sources to turn kinds of sources on or off, pick which knowledge to read, and choose the repository for code, memories and skills. Remove a chip to turn that source off. Chat remembers your picks for next time.
- Attach a file to a question with the paperclip, or drop it on the box. Up to three files per question.
- Enter sends, Shift+Enter starts a new line, Esc stops an answer while it is coming in, and ⌘/ (Ctrl+/ on Windows and Linux) starts a new chat.
Answers
- The answer streams in as it is written. What Chat looked up shows above it, folded once the answer is done.
- Every claim has a numbered citation. Click the number, or the source card under the answer, to read the passage it rests on, where it comes from and how current it is.
- When nothing in the chosen sources supports an answer, it says so ("Not in your sources") instead of making one up.
- Under each answer: Copy (the text without the citation numbers), Ask again on the latest answer, and a thumbs up or down. Ratings help tune what Chat reads.
Chats
Your chats are listed on the left, newest first, grouped by day, with a search box. On a phone the list opens from the button at the top left. Each of your chats has a menu to rename it, share it with the team or delete it.
A chat is private until you share it. Teammates can then read it, but only you ask in it.
Who can do what
Everyone on the team can read chats shared with them. Members can ask, rate and manage their own chats. Admins manage knowledge. A custom role follows the same capabilities: Ask questions in Chat and Read knowledge open to their role.
Chat's model calls are metered under their own name on the usage page, and count toward your token limits.
Bookmarks to the old address keep working: links to the old chat page open Chat.
